Drought and Living Water

The land around me cries out for water.  I see fields withering as it gets even hotter.  The farmland everywhere desperately needs rain.  But I am saddened to say the plants still won’t be the same.  In years past, crops have been healthy and great.  Now I look around at fields looking sickly and “ready” too early a date.

How many hearts around me are just as thirsty?  How many search for water where it won’t be?  Who has tried to quench this thirst, but yet it remains?  How much will these hearts wither before they find healing rains?  I search but I can’t see on my own from the inside out.  But come, I have found this heart-healing water, enough to do away with any drought.

Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.  Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.  (John 4:14)

I have found hope along the path of this river of life.  In these waters is healing of strife.  You’ll find Jesus first, and you he will save.  In the broken and too-dry earth he came and gave.  All for you he sacrificed his all.  All for you, that you may hear his call!
