Music. I’m pretty much in love with it. Hence, the music major. I have been…indulging in all sorts of music lately, especially the classical stuff. Say what you will about classical music, but I am pretty much in love with it. .
What music made Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, and other classic cartoons so exciting? Classical. And those composers, the legends they are, were geniuses. Seriously. I have a music history final on Saturday (my last final of the semester! Woo!), and a portion is going to be on listening examples, identifying piece and composer. I’m not very good at that, but I enjoy having an excuse to listen to all this great music! And, for this class, we had to get CDs with classical music. Awesome! And…I’ve been doing music-exchanges with friends (and another is planned with Mom when I get home from break). I went through all my music today, and put all of the instrumental stuff that has no words in one playlist. This is my homework-doing list, for I am otherwise so tempted to sing along. I am quite in love with most kinds of music. I have been thinking about music SO MUCH lately—I’m pretty sure my blood possesses music notes and terms and rhythms, cuz I live and breathe it, and may have become a little obsessed with it. To me, God’s most beautiful creation is music. I am just astounded at the instruments we have today and the sounds that can be made from them! Taking these music history classes has just shown me how far we have come in the field of music! I was watching “Prince of Egypt” with Christina yesterday, and I noted how the Hebrew people had instruments with them as they marched out of Egypt. Music is beautiful—and one of my favorite forms of praise to God the Father, who created it in the first place!
I just kind of wanted to update and spill what was on my mind lately. Oh, and my counselor on Wednesday suggested I take time out of my schedule and just play music—we’re doing an experiment to see if that kind of “medicine” helps. =)
Almost to the end! Smiling always, Anna =)^2
Love the cartoon clip! 🙂
Funny story about that. So, I was YouTubing the songs I had to prepare to conduct and that was one of them. I would call it a happy well-excused distraction…..
